Jenny McCarthy On Jim Carrey: ‘We Are Already Married In Our Hearts’
LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
After Jim Carrey was interrupted while almost proposing to longtime girlfriend Jenny McCarthy on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” this week, Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson caught up with the couple at the premiere of Jim’s new movie, “Yes Man,” to find out if “yes” was a word Jenny would be telling Jim anytime soon.
“We are already married in our hearts,” Jenny told Access.
“So if he asked you, you would say, ‘no,’ instead of ‘yes?’” Shaun asked.
“I would say, ‘You are joking, because you know me better,’” Jenny said. “And, we love each other as is.”
Despite the unlikelihood of a trip down the aisle for the couple, Jenny and Jim are very much a family, especially when it comes to celebrating the holidays.
Jim told Access that he loves to dress up like Santa for Jenny’s 6-year-old son Evan.
“I pretended I was coming down the chimney,” Jim said of last year’s Christmas celebration. “I was going insane in the living room. But, he was at a distance and he was a little — it was a little shocking for [Evan.]”
Jim, who is known for going to great lengths in all of his roles, appears to do the same when it comes to playing St. Nick.
“He even got on the roof and pretended to land the sleigh,” Jenny explained.
“That’s a time honored tradition in my family,” Jim continued. “You got to go to the roof. You got to take the jingle bells on the roof and trump around.”
“I go all the way with the illusion,” he added.

ET's Thea Andrews spoke with Jenny on the red carpet, and the blonde beauty opened up about her relationship with Jim and why the couple is happy simply being together without tying the knot.

Jim Carrey tells why he won't marry his girlfriend Jenny McCarthy

JOKER Jim Carrey has ruled out marriage to former Playboy pin-up girlfriend Jenny McCarthy - because he's convinced their love would be jinxed if they sealed it with a wedding.
In an effort to end speculation about where the romance is going, funnyman Jim has admitted he and Jenny are living together, but he's adamant they are steering clear of wedding bells.
"I'm happy with Jenny, although I probably won't get married again," says the Truman Show star, who has already been down the aisle on two occasions.
"If you've done it twice, you really should stop."
The 46-year-old superstar and Jenny, 37, were not an obvious love match. Twice divorced and the dad of 20-year-old Jane, a rising singer, Jim is one of the highest paid Hollywood comedy talents.
But he's also a complicated character, who loves reading books on spiritualism and self-help and takes these subjects very seriously.
Jenny replaced the late Anna Nicole Smith as Playboy's Playmate of the Year in 1994, then became a presenter on MTV and starred in a string of broad comedies such as Scary Movie. You don't often think of her as a serious gal.
However, the couple have been together since December 2005 - and Jim couldn't be happier.
"I feel we met at a time when I was more ready than I have ever been in my life to have a relationship. We encourage each other. We're both on the same path," he says.
The lanky star credits his girlfriend with making him look at life in a new light, but feared the relationship was over when Jenny stayed away from him to take care of her autistic son Evan, five, from her marriage to actor-director John Asher.
Evan was diagnosed autistic in 2005, about six months before Jenny and Jim got together, and she has since written a book about her experiences.
At that point, Jim didn't know his girlfriend was struggling to balance their relationship with taking care of her son.
He said: "She kind of disappeared from my life for a little while then called me and said 'Here's the deal'."
They have managed to work out their problems and now can't imagine life without each other. Jim has also bonded with Evan over games and a love of Star Wars.
On a lighter side, Jim is the star of a new comedy Yes Man, about a man who gambles with fate by deciding to answer "yes" to every question, no matter what it is.
He believes that, for all the moments of madcap hilarity, he's essentially delivering a feelgood movie for troubled times.
Yes Man is loosely based on a book by Castaway presenter Danny Wallace, and one reason why Jim was attracted to the story is because he reckons he's learned to say yes to life himself.
But he warns maybe you should also say no at times.
The actor's daftest "yes" decision was to join the sea cadets when he was growing up - but even that had a positive effect of sorts.
He said: "I was 11 and joined the sea cadets, which are like a military version of boy scouts, and they shave your head, humiliate you, yell at you and parade you around in front of the rest of the people you know in town.
"And you parade around with this uniform on. But you know what? If I hadn't done that, I wouldn't know I'm a useless maggot. So I'm glad. 'Yes' always leads to something good."
The star admits that after his divorce from second wife, actress Lauren Holly, his first instinct was to say no to socialising. He was broken-hearted and shunned nights out with pals.
But now Jim is so keen to spread a positive message. He says he'd like to help the rest of us by setting up his own self-help meetings.
And he has taken the message of saying yes to heart - so when he spotted ascene in Yes Man where his character does a bungee jump, he immediately wanted to do it himself.
"The director tried to talk me out of it," reveals Jim. In fact, his bosses begged him to use a stunt double, but the funnyman insisted this was something hewanted to do.
"This is what the movie is about - saying yes to life, taking chances," he adds.
Eventually, he was told he could go ahead - provided he did it on the last day of filming.
It wasn't his only brush with danger during the making of the movie. Early on, he broke three ribs doing a pratfall that went wrong.
"I've done pratfalls my whole life, I know how to do them. But suddenly I decided it would be a good idea to get all four limbs up in the air at the same time. Icame down really hard," he winces.
Even so, Jim got up, finished the shoot and strapped an icepack to his chest so he could see the finished scene before going for proper medical attention.
"All I really cared about was, 'Did it look cool?'" he admits.
The broken bones were worth it in the end - the shot made it into the final film.
Jim has come a long way since his early years growing up in desperate poverty near Toronto.
His father originally played sax with a big band, but had to sell his instrument to pay the hospital bills when Jim's older sister was born. Jim describes his dad as akind, mild man who slogged away as an accountant to support his family. But when Jim was 13, his father lost his job.
"It really broke his heart," recalls the actor. "It was hard to watch."
Jim was always the family clown, keen to make people laugh. When first-time visitors entered the family home, they routinely were greeted by the spectacle of the youngest boy flinging himself down a flight of stairs.
As they were recovering from the shock, the youngster would jump to his feet, take a quick bow, then throw himself down the stairs again.
The story not only offers a glimpse into the early development of a comedy icon, but reveals a lot about how focused he was on a showbusiness career from a young age.
"It was all I ever thought about," he says. "I never really considered doing anything else, except for maybe a week when I wanted to be a vet."
His proudest moment as a struggling actor was making Clint Eastwood's day when the movie legend cracked up after seeing a tape of a young Jim trying for a part in his film The Dead Pool.
"I auditioned for Clint in a room. He wasn't there, they would send the tapes up to his home in Carmel for him to see," explains Jim.
For The Man With No Name, Jim did agoofy Elvis-style dance.
"And Clint just absolutely went out of his mind over this thing," marvels Jim.
"He told me, 'I show it everyone who comes into my house. It really breaks the ice!' "We have been friends ever since.
He just liked that I was so out there."
Yes Man is in cinemas on Boxing Day.

Jim Carrey has vowed to give his longtime girlfriend Jenny McCarthy a financially secure future - after reportedly setting up a $50 million (GBP35 million) trust fund for the actress despite insisting they will never marry.
The actor, 46, has earned an estimated $200 million (GBP140 million) with his blockbuster comedies - and is desperate to make sure 36-year-old McCarthy is set for life.
A source tells Star magazine, "He adores her and credits her with his better health and happier outlook on life. (He) wants her to have all the perks in life should anything happen to him."
The pair began dating in December 2005.

In 1993, McCarthy underwent breast augmentation to enhance her look as a model for Playboy. McCarthy had the implants downsized in 1998.
McCarthy dated her manager Ray Manzella for a short time in 1998. After breaking up with Manzella, McCarthy began dating actor/director John Mallory Asher.[11] The couple became engaged in January 1999, and married on September 11 of that year. They have a son, Evan Joseph, born on May 18, 2002. Evan is autistic. In August 2005, McCarthy and Asher filed for divorce.
In a February 2006 interview with Howard Stern, adult actress Jenna Jameson said she had two sexual encounters with McCarthy.[12] When McCarthy visited Stern's show in April 2006, she denied having sex with Jameson, but said she "made out" with her during the two encounters. McCarthy also took a lie detector test and passed the questions regarding Jameson. During the appearance, McCarthy also admitted to having performed oral sex on women and that she cheated on her ex-husband with both men and women.[13] However, in a later appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she claimed they didn't cheat on each other because it was agreed upon.
In December 2005, McCarthy began dating Jim Carrey. They did not make their relationship public until June 2006. She announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on April 2, 2008 that she and Carrey are now living together, but have no plans to marry, as they do not need a "piece of paper". In May 2007, McCarthy announced that her son was diagnosed with autism in 2005. The disorder of McCarthy's son began with seizures and his improvement occurred after the seizures were treated; these symptoms are more consistent with Landau-Kleffner syndrome, which often is misdiagnosed as autism.[16] McCarthy served as a spokesperson for Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) from June 2007 until October 2008.[17] She participated in fundraisers, online chats, and other activities for the non-profit organization to help families affected by autism spectrum disorders. Her first fundraiser for TACA, Ante Up for Autism,[18] was held on October 20, 2007, in Irvine, California. Her book on the subject, Louder than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism was published September 17, 2007. She has stated both in her book and during her appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show that her husband was unable to deal with their son's autism, which led to their divorce. She added that her relationship with Jim Carrey has made it easier on her and that finding someone who loves her and her son is great. McCarthy also told Oprah Winfrey that her son was developing normally until he received his measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine (at 15 months of age) and claimed that they were the cause.[19] McCarthy's claims on television that vaccines cause autism have contributed to parental concerns about a possible link;[20] parental concerns have led to decreased immunization rates and increased incidence of measles, a highly contagious and sometimes deadly disease.[21] McCarthy has stated at many talk shows and rallies that chelation therapy helped her son recover from autism; the underlying rationale for chelation, which is that mercury in vaccines causes autism, has been roundly rejected by scientific studies, with the National Institute of Mental Health concluding that autistic children are unlikely to receive any benefit in return for the risk of cognitive and emotional problems due to the chelating agent itself.[22]

McCarthy became the Playmate of the Month and later the Playmate of the Year. In 1995, MTV chose McCarthy to be the host of a new dating show called Singled Out, for which she left Hot Rocks. Her job as a host was a success, and Playboy wanted her to do more modeling. That same year, she also appeared at WrestleMania XI as a guest valet for Shawn Michaels. She left after the match with the victor, WWF Heavyweight Champion Diesel. She returned to the WWE on the August 2, 2008 edition of Saturday Night's Main Event to thank the fans for supporting Generation Rescue. McCarthy has continued her work with Playboy over the years, both as a model and in other capacities. She appeared on the cover of the magazine's January 2005 issue wearing a leopard skin bunny suit and was featured in a pictorial shot at Elvis Presley's Graceland mansion in the same issue. She was the second woman (Carmen Electra was the first) and first Playmate to become a celebrity photographer for the Playboy Cyber Club, getting behind the camera to photograph model Jennifer Madden, who is not a Playmate.

She is the current voice of Six in the third season of Canadian CGI Sci-Fi cartoon Tripping the Rift.

April 4, 2005Though McCarthy initially rose to fame because of her sexual image, a frequent source of her celebrity derives from toilet humor. McCarthy once modeled for Candie's, a shoe company. In one magazine ad, McCarthy posed on a toilet seat, with her underwear near her ankles. Cultural scholar Collin Gifford Brooke wrote that the ad's "taboo nature" brought it attention, while noting that the ad itself helped to weaken that taboo.[9] Another Candie's ad depicted McCarthy passing gas in a crowded elevator.
A sketch on her MTV show centered on her character, a well-coifed business woman, answering the question of "What did you have for lunch?" by seeming to force herself to vomit all over a table which she then ate on-screen. This was faked using special effects. The direct contrast of McCarthy's reputation as a sex symbol and this often grotesque humor is closely associated with her image. This image was taken to a new extreme in her film Dirty Love, which featured McCarthy's character sitting in a massive pool of her own menstrual blood.[10

She was the second woman (Carmen Electra was the first) and first Playmate to become a celebrity photographer for the Playboy Cyber Club, getting behind the camera to photograph model Jennifer Madden, who is not a Playmate.
Jenny's younger sister, Amy, has also posed for Playboy. She was a Cyber Girl of the Week and the Cyber Girl of the Month for January 2005.[7]

In one magazine ad, McCarthy posed on a toilet seat, with her underwear near her ankles. Cultural scholar Collin Gifford Brooke wrote that the ad's "taboo nature" brought it attention, while noting that the ad itself helped to weaken that taboo.[9] Another Candie's ad depicted McCarthy passing gas in a crowded elevator.
A sketch on her MTV show centered on her character, a well-coifed business woman, answering the question of "What did you have for lunch?" by seeming to force herself to vomit all over a table which she then ate on-screen. This was faked using special effects. The direct contrast of McCarthy's reputation as a sex symbol and this often grotesque humor is closely associated with her image. McCarthy was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her father is of Irish descent and her mother is of German descent. McCarthy comes from a middle class Catholic family that lived in the West Elsdon neighborhood. She is the second of four daughters; her sisters are named Lynette, Joanne, and Amy. Her cousin is Melissa McCarthy of Gilmore Girls fame. McCarthy's mother, Linda, was a housewife and courtroom custodian, and her father, Dan McCarthy, was a steel mill foreman.[3][4] She attended St. Turibius Grade School on Chicago's South Side. As a teenager, McCarthy attended Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School (whose school sweater she donned in the pages of Playboy) and was a cheerleader at both Brother Rice High School and St. Laurence High Schools,[5] although she has referred to herself as an "outcast" at her school.[6] After McCarthy graduated from high school, she attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale to study nursing.
